Situated in South-East Andalusia, the Natural Park of Cabo de Gata-Níjar
is the largest seaside protected area of the Mediterranean and one of the very
few areas of the coast of South Europe, where it is still possible to enjoy virgin
landscapes.
Wide beaches with transparent waters, isolated sandy coves backed by rugged
mountains and black cliffs plunging vertically into the sea stand in
contrast with the remains of the local architecture formed by "cortijos"(typical
andalusian farm), windmills and noria.
More than one thousand vegetal and animal species complete this landscape,
in a semi-desert volcanic orography where the luminosity changes throughout
the year, producing a true visual spectacle.
